Here is the 2023 South Bend Tribune All-Area Football team

Good job to all the chosen players of the 2023 South Bend Tribune All-Area Football team!! Being listed among the top players in this area is a great honor.

The Offensive Player of the Year was Dominick Jolley of Riley High and Ty Zartman of Jimtown took home the Defensive Player of the Year Award. In addition, both players excelled in that period and made significant contributions towards their respective teams victories.

From Penn High School came quarterback Nolan McCullough and he contributed significantly in this offensive season. Similarly, Dominick Jolley from Riley High School showed off his great abilities in running as a running back. Two exceptional performers, Marvin Schindler (Riley) and Tyrus Graverson (Bremen), were named wide receivers. The team’s tight end was Anthony Schmok from Riley.

Anakin Coffman (Bremen), Austin White (Riley), Caleb Spodnick, and Ira Napier (Glenn) and Shawn Peck (Washington) comprise the offensive line. These guys displayed huge stamina and competency shielding their quarterbacks and opening lanes for their teams.

Defensive players awarded by RIley include Tavaris Townsend and Marques Young as defensive linemen while Mason Kobelt was a punter. Linebackers who included Bryce Verse from Washington, Marcus Henderson, Robert Nabieu from Riley, and Eli Beeney from Glenn. Defensive backs from Glenn included Ayden Smigielski, Ty’Ronn Larkin, and Jackson Clopton.

Several other players from special teams were recognized, including the kicker, Marshall Kmiecik of New Prairie, punter, Mason Kobelt of Glenn and return specialist, Dominic Mitchell of Clay.

Finally, a big thanks to the Coach of the year, Darrick Lee the Riley coach and a Cory Yeoman from the Penn side. Their outstanding leadership qualities also helped a great deal in leading their respective teams to win.

Congratulations to all the players and coaches for being recognized after performing well in the 2023 football season once more.
